In my own experience trading with Questrade, I’ve found both positives and some drawbacks, particularly with their customer service and platform reliability. On the customer support front, while their live chat feature is accessible and the staff is usually competent, response times can be inconsistent—especially during high-traffic periods. This can be frustrating if you need urgent resolutions, a critical factor for me when actively managing positions. The platform itself generally feels stable for most equity transactions, but in forex trading, I’ve noticed occasional issues under market stress. Specifically, there have been moments of re-quotes and rare disconnections, which introduce risk for anyone relying on timely execution, especially during volatile sessions. Their proprietary trading platforms are user-friendly for basic trading and investment, but they do lack some advanced functionalities and integrations (for example, there is no support for MetaTrader), which limits automated or complex trading strategies. Charting tools are quite basic, and absence of features like visible swap rates or hedging options can be limiting for those with more sophisticated needs. Overall, for me, Questrade works best for straightforward or longer-term trading strategies rather than rapid intraday forex trading. I approach it with measured expectations, and always prepare for minor delays or platform quirks—something I believe is essential for responsible risk management.
