In my personal experience as a trader, confirming a broker’s regulatory status is non-negotiable, especially when it comes to safeguarding my funds and ensuring fair market practices. Morrison is, in fact, overseen by financial regulators. Specifically, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) is the authority responsible for Morrison’s regulatory oversight. Their operation under an ASIC license (No. 241737) with a Straight Through Processing (STP) model adds a layer of regulatory scrutiny that, for me, is an essential baseline before considering any broker. ASIC is known for its relatively rigorous standards and ongoing compliance requirements, which means that Morrison must adhere to specific conduct and capital requirements to maintain its license. In my view, this raises the overall trust factor, as ASIC’s framework mandates that client money should be segregated and risk management processes must be in place. However, it’s also important for me to remain cautious; while regulation is important, it does not eliminate all risks, and careful ongoing monitoring of a broker’s business practices is always warranted in the fast-evolving financial industry.
