In my experience with Shikoku, two aspects stood out as potential drawbacks: customer support responsiveness and platform limitations. When I initially tried to clarify the broker’s specific fee structure and other detailed queries, it was noticeably difficult to elicit timely responses. For a trader like me, prompt and clear communication is essential, especially in moments where decisions are time-sensitive. This lack of a direct or efficient support channel left me feeling somewhat unsupported compared to what I expect from other established providers. Additionally, Shikoku’s platform offerings are rather limited, focusing solely on a proprietary web trader. There is no support for widely-used platforms like MT4 or MT5, which I have found to be valuable both for their advanced charting and widespread community support. The absence of a demo account also prevented me from testing execution speed, order stability, or general reliability of their web platform without risking actual funds. While Shikoku has been operating in Japan for many years and maintains regulation under the FSA, I believe these drawbacks can create challenges, particularly for traders who, like me, prioritize reliability, robust trading tools, and accessible customer support. For my style of trading, these limitations require careful consideration before committing significant capital.
