After carefully reviewing Proton Markets, I find several aspects that make me very cautious. Having traded for years, I always scrutinize the regulatory standing of any broker I consider, because a lack of credible oversight can expose traders to unnecessary risks. Proton Markets currently shows no valid regulatory information, and WikiFX explicitly warns that they have a suspicious regulatory license and scope of business, marking them as high risk. For me, this alone is a major red flag. When dealing with my own money, I require the peace of mind that comes from knowing a trusted regulator is actively supervising the broker's activities. In terms of potential advantages, Proton Markets advertises different account tiers with varying minimum deposits and leverage options, including relatively high leverage up to 1:400. However, high leverage is a double-edged sword. While it offers flexibility for experienced traders, without regulation it significantly magnifies risk—not just market risk, but also the possibility of unfair broker practices or withdrawal difficulties. I also noticed a very high minimum deposit for some accounts, which for many retail traders could be prohibitive. Another issue for me is the platform's transparency. Key details about their products, commission structure, funding and withdrawal methods are missing—which undermines my trust. In this industry, full and clear disclosure is not just helpful, but essential for making well-informed decisions. Personally, I need far more assurance and transparency than Proton Markets currently provides. As such, I would advise extreme caution, as the disadvantages in terms of regulatory risk and lack of transparency far outweigh any perceived benefit for me.
