From my perspective as an experienced trader, Shaw and Partners presents a rather specialized proposition compared to typical forex brokers. Their main advantage truly lies in their diverse suite of financial services—beyond just trading, they focus on asset management, wealth management, and tailored investment solutions. For me, the availability of separately managed accounts and model portfolio options provides a level of customization and goal-based strategy that’s not always offered by vanilla forex brokers. These account structures encourage transparency and allow clients, including myself, to retain beneficial ownership with adaptable portfolios, which can be very appealing for those keen on having active input while relying on professional management. However, when it comes to the actual trading of forex or CFDs, there isn’t much direct emphasis or product detail noted, which makes it difficult for me to thoroughly weigh their trading instruments against specialized brokers. Additionally, the fee structure lacks detailed public disclosure, making it tough to analyze in advance whether costs are competitive, particularly for active traders like myself who are cost-sensitive. A critical consideration is the current regulatory status: their ASIC license is marked as “Exceeded”, which introduces an element of uncertainty regarding oversight and compliance. I interpret this as a significant risk, and I personally wouldn’t rush into opening accounts or engaging in high-volume trading without clearer regulatory confirmation. All in all, while their managed and advisory offerings may suit investors looking for tailored, long-term financial planning, I would remain cautious about using Shaw and Partners primarily for forex or direct trading purposes until greater transparency and up-to-date regulatory assurances are available.
