In my experience evaluating and trading with regional brokers such as First State Futures, three key benefits stand out, though I approach each with due caution. Firstly, the broker is regulated by the Indonesia Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (ICDX) and offers segregated accounts, which I consider essential for client fund security. Regulation isn’t the only marker of trust, but it does provide some oversight and an established grievance process, which is critical for me when considering where to deposit funds. Secondly, I appreciate the diversity of their tradable instruments. Being able to access not just forex, but also American single stocks, metals, energy, stock indices, and a variety of local commodities such as CPO and coffee, gives me more flexibility in my trading strategies. This is particularly useful when I’m looking to diversify or hedge risk in my portfolio. Having both micro and multilateral commodity accounts is uncommon among brokers focused on the Indonesian market, making this relatively unique in my experience. Finally, the availability of MetaTrader 4 (MT4)—with a full license—alongside their local JAFeTS NOW platform, provides both the technical reliability I expect and the convenience to trade across multiple devices. As someone who values stability and fast execution, the reported 31 ms execution speed on their MT4 servers is a notable strength, at least on paper. That said, I always test demo environments first, and I did appreciate that demo accounts are required prior to opening a live account, which suggests a client-first onboarding process. Ultimately, while I recognize these benefits, I remain cautious due to the revoked BAPPEBTI license and medium risk rating. Still, the features above are, for me, the broker’s main advantages.
