From my personal experience and careful investigation of Rakuten Bank as a potential trading venue, I have some important reservations regarding their suitability for automated trading using Expert Advisors (EAs). Rakuten Bank primarily operates as a digital bank in Japan, offering standard banking services such as deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and payments through its proprietary Rakuten Bank App. Unlike many established forex brokers, Rakuten Bank does not appear to offer access to widely used trading platforms like MetaTrader 4 or 5. These platforms are recognized for robust EA compatibility and have become the industry standard for algorithmic trading. Furthermore, there is no mention of Rakuten Bank supporting third-party integration or scripting environments that are essential for deploying EAs. In addition, the lack of regulatory oversight is a significant concern for me—the absence of licensing means there is no assurance of platform transparency, fair execution, or funds security, all of which are critical for anyone considering automated or discretionary trading. For these reasons, I would exercise extreme caution and would not currently consider Rakuten Bank a viable option for running Expert Advisors or pursuing automation in my trading. Instead, I prefer working with well-regulated brokers that offer proven platforms and established support for automated strategies.
