In my experience as a forex trader, the ability to use Expert Advisors (EAs) for automated trading is highly dependent on the broker’s choice of trading platforms. With Freedom24, I’ve noted that they primarily offer their own web platform and a proprietary mobile app for trading, rather than providing access to MetaTrader 4 (MT4) or MetaTrader 5 (MT5) platforms. Since MT4 and MT5 are widely recognized as the standard platforms supporting EAs, this absence is significant. Although early information lists MT4/5 as available, the more detailed sections about Freedom24’s features and platform support mention only the broker’s web and mobile solutions—without indication of MT4/5 access. From a practical standpoint, custom or proprietary trading platforms rarely match the comprehensive EA integration and community support found on MetaTrader, which is why I rely on those platforms when automated trading is essential for my strategies. Freedom24’s focus appears to be more on direct trading of stocks, ETFs, bonds, and options across various global exchanges, rather than facilitating algorithmic forex trading through EAs. For traders whose main priority is automated trading via EAs, this limitation is crucial to consider. In my opinion, this makes Freedom24 less suitable for sophisticated EA users, and I would approach this broker cautiously if automated forex trading is a key requirement for my account. Always confirm platform capabilities directly with the broker before committing significant funds.
