From my experience with SBI FXTRADE, the primary focus is clearly on forex trading. The platform provides access to 34 different currency pairs, covering major, minor, and some exotic options. For me, this broad range is attractive because it allows a degree of diversification within the forex market itself. However, it is important to note that SBI FXTRADE does not function as a typical multi-asset broker. It does not offer direct trading in stocks, indices, or commodities through its standard interface. The service is structured almost exclusively around foreign exchange margin trading. While I noticed a mention of a dedicated tool for crypto asset margin trading (CFDs) on Android, this appears to be a separate function rather than integrated into the core trading platform. In my assessment, those who are primarily seeking exposure to asset classes like equities, index CFDs, or commodities will not find these options available at SBI FXTRADE. Instead, the firm maintains a clear specialization, likely due to regulatory focus and their business model in Japan. For me, the regulated status by Japan’s Financial Services Agency is reassuring, but anyone interested should carefully consider that asset variety is limited to mostly forex pairs. The appeal of SBI FXTRADE lies in its tight spreads, established track record, and focused forex offering, rather than wide multi-asset coverage. This is a platform I would choose when my objective is to trade currencies with a well-regulated, Japan-based broker, but not for exposure outside FX.
