Having spent years evaluating brokers for my own trading, safety and transparency always come first for me. Societe Generale stands out as a highly established and well-regulated entity, with a significant presence under Japan’s FSA retail forex license and a track record spanning over 15 years. However, based on my review of their profile, I found there is a notable lack of detailed and publicly disclosed information regarding their forex trading conditions, including specifics on spreads. As a cautious trader, the absence of clear data about whether Societe Generale offers fixed or variable spreads does raise concerns, especially when compared to brokers who publish such information as standard practice. From my experience, most large banks and multinational brokers tend to offer variable spreads, especially when they support institutional and professional clients across global markets. Variable spreads usually widen considerably during volatile periods or around major news events, reflecting reduced liquidity and increased market risk. If Societe Generale follows general industry norms, it would be reasonable for me to expect similar behavior—spreads widening significantly under such conditions. However, without official disclosure or direct confirmation from Societe Generale, I would advise any trader to proceed conservatively. I personally would reach out to their client support and request written confirmation on spread policies and typical behavior during market shocks before committing funds. For me, only clear, upfront information inspires the level of trust I require to engage in active trading.
