In my experience as a forex trader, First State Futures provides three main account types: the Single Platform Account, the Micro Multilateral Account, and the Multilateral Commodities Account. Each of these serves a distinct trading purpose and accommodates different trader profiles. The Single Platform Account covers all bilateral products and has an entry lot size from 0.1, with trades fixed at an IDR 14,000 exchange rate. For me, the flexibility of the lower lot size and a fixed rate can help with planning trade exposure, especially if you prefer smaller, more controlled positions in a diverse range of products. The Micro Multilateral Account is tailored toward world currencies, energy, and commodities, with a minimum lot size of 1 micro lot and daily USD/IDR exchange adjustments. This account seems more appropriate if you want exposure to global instruments but at a micro level, possibly ideal for testing strategies with limited capital at risk. The Multilateral Commodities Account, on the other hand, is focused specifically on gold, palm oil (CPO), olein, cocoa, and coffee, starting from 1 lot and pricing in Indonesian Rupiah per purchase. If—as in my case—you’re interested in commodity trading with direct access to local markets, this account type aligns with those goals. A crucial point for me is that First State Futures requires a demo account setup before applying for a live one, which encourages disciplined practice before risking real funds. All in all, understanding these distinctions allows me to choose an account that best matches my trading objectives, risk preference, and instrument interests. I find it essential to carefully assess each option, especially since their trading conditions and required minimums differ and there’s an inactivity fee to consider if you’re not an active trader.
