In my experience trading through RBC Direct Investing, fee transparency has been adequate and I haven’t encountered any hidden or undisclosed fees specifically tied to deposits or withdrawals. What stands out for me is that RBC is a regulated platform, subject to Canadian compliance standards, which means clear disclosure of charges is expected by law. Deposits to the platform, especially from Canadian bank accounts, have not triggered additional fees that weren’t stated upfront during my account setup process. However, for wire transfers within Canada or the U.S., there is a $45 per transaction fee, and this has been clearly listed in their fee schedule, which was available before I initiated any transfers. From a practical perspective, I pay close attention to all communication about potential costs—since, for any broker, these can make a visible difference in trading returns over time. At RBC, maintenance fees are possible if my account assets drop below $15,000, but again, this is transparently communicated. Based on the information I’ve seen and my own account history, I have not come across stealth charges or surprise deductions involving deposits or withdrawals. Naturally, I would still recommend that anyone considering RBC do their own due diligence each time their process or fee structures update, as even reputable brokers can amend their terms. For me, this risk-aware, methodical approach has been essential for protecting my capital when evaluating brokerage platforms.
