My years in the market have taught me that, if spreads are variable—and not transparently disclosed—traders may encounter drastically widened spreads during news events, often leading to unexpected costs or slippage. This lack of specificity from AMTD regarding spread mechanics not only makes risk management difficult, but also impedes informed decision-making. Without robust and verifiable details, and considering the reports of withdrawal issues from other users, I cannot recommend relying on AMTD for trading during major news events. A conservative approach would be to look for brokers with a history of transparency, consistent regulatory oversight, and a clear, published spread policy. For me, those are baseline requirements for safeguarding both capital and peace of mind.
