In my experience as an independent forex trader, I always consider whether a broker supports the use of Expert Advisors (EAs), as automated trading is a core part of my strategy testing and execution. When evaluating Proton Markets, I noticed that their account types specifically mention “SupportedEA,” which signals that the platform technically permits the use of EAs. However, before jumping to use automated trading tools here, I must emphasize some serious concerns. The first red flag for me is Proton Markets’ lack of valid regulatory information. They operate out of the UK, but according to public data, their regulatory status is described as “suspicious,” and WikiFX rates their regulatory index at zero, labeling them as high risk. For any trader using EAs—where reliability, fast execution, and transparent withdrawal processes are paramount—regulation provides some minimum safeguard, and its absence is a major caution point. While the infrastructure might technically allow for EA deployment, I am personally highly cautious. My experience tells me that automated trading requires an added layer of trust in the broker to avoid issues such as platform manipulation or unexpected restrictions. I would not feel comfortable running EAs on such a platform without proper oversight, regardless of the stated functionality. For me, platform safety and regulatory compliance come first, especially when it involves automated systems managing my funds.
