In my experience as a trader, when evaluating TD, I find it important to note that the broker primarily markets itself as a provider of a wide array of personal banking and investment services rather than positioning as a specialized forex broker. The available information does not clearly delineate distinct forex account types in the way that many dedicated brokers do—typically, I expect to see comparisons between Standard, ECN, or VIP accounts and their respective features. At TD, the focus appears to be on integrated financial solutions such as chequing and savings, credit cards, mortgage products, and online investing, all accessible via their TD App. For me, this lack of specialization presents a challenge. There is no transparent breakdown of spreads, leverage, execution models, or commission structures specific to forex trading accounts, which are critical factors for any serious trader. Without regulated oversight or a clear, detailed account structure, it's difficult to assess the suitability or competitiveness of TD for forex trading relative to other brokers in the market. This absence of regulatory protection increases risk, and personally, I am cautious about trading significant volumes with platforms that do not provide granular account details or regulation. As always, I prioritize clarity and security—two areas where TD leaves substantial questions unanswered for dedicated forex traders like myself.
