Speaking from my experience as a trader, Options AI actually takes a different approach compared to traditional forex brokers: it doesn’t operate on a fixed or variable “spread” model commonly seen in currency trading. Instead, Options AI uses a flat commission structure—$5 per trade regardless of size or complexity. This means that rather than paying the difference between a bid and ask price set by a broker, I pay a straightforward commission; however, it’s important to recognize that the actual spread on option contracts or stocks will still exist, as defined by the underlying market. What I’ve found critical is that, even though the commission is fixed, actual market spreads for options can widen dramatically during periods of heightened volatility or major news events, just as with any brokerage. This spread—which is the difference between the buy (ask) and sell (bid) prices for an option—is set by market makers and fluctuates based on underlying liquidity and risk. For me, this means that trade execution cost during turbulent markets can increase, even if the commission stays the same. It’s also worth noting that other mandatory regulatory and exchange fees apply on top of the fixed commission, especially during very active market periods, which can add up. Because Options AI integrates with existing brokerage platforms and is not a market maker itself, I always double-check how those external factors and the chosen broker’s environment might further affect potential spreads or slippage on my trades, particularly during fast-moving markets. In sum, while Options AI provides fee transparency via fixed commissions, spreads themselves are wholly market-driven, and I remain cautious during news-driven volatility for this reason.
