In my personal experience, Charles Schwab has some of the most competitive pricing among brokers. I’ve been trading for a while now, and one of the reasons I keep using Schwab is that they offer $0 commission on most online trades, including stocks and ETFs. When I first started using Schwab, I was pleasantly surprised by the lack of commission fees for stock trades, which was a huge advantage for me as a frequent trader. However, I did find that Schwab does charge a $0.65 fee per contract for options trades, which is fairly typical in the industry. While there are no commissions for most other transactions, Schwab does charge for broker-assisted trades, which cost $25 per trade. In the rare instances when I’ve used broker assistance, this fee has been something I kept in mind. That said, I haven’t encountered any other hidden fees, and the fee structure remains simple to navigate. Overall, I think Schwab’s commission-free structure is ideal for active investors like myself who want to trade frequently without worrying about fees eating into profits.
