Abstract:UAE warns residents of scammers using a licensed company's name to deceive investors. Verify entities with the SCA to avoid fraud.

Residents of the UAE are being cautioned about a new fraud scheme involving scammers who are misusing the name of a licensed trading company to deceive investors. The Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA), which regulates financial securities in the UAE, has warned that an unidentified group is impersonating ADS Securities, a firm officially licensed by the SCA.
These fraudsters exploit ADS Securities' official license to create a false sense of legitimacy and attract unsuspecting investors. The SCA has advised all investors to verify the legitimacy of any financial entity before entering into agreements or making transfers. To avoid falling victim to such scams, it is recommended to check the SCAs website for the most current information on licensed companies.
The SCA's advisory also stresses the importance of confirming the authenticity of any communications, including emails or messages, to prevent fraud. This measure is part of a broader effort to protect residents from deceptive schemes targeting investors.
In a related advisory, the SCA had previously warned about Platinum FX, a company lacking the necessary license for regulated financial activities. Additionally, Platinum FX has a low standing of 1.25 on the WikiFX App, which reflects its poor reputation. The SCA clarified that it does not assume any responsibility for transactions involving Platinum FX, underscoring the need for investors to be meticulous in verifying the legitimacy of financial service providers.
Investors are urged to be vigilant and consult official sources to ensure they deal with legitimate, licensed entities. This diligence is essential in preventing scams and ensuring safe and secure financial transactions in the UAE.
