Based on my deep dive into Fortex's overall structure and the information available, I’ve noticed that Fortex primarily positions itself as a technology provider to other financial entities rather than a traditional retail broker. Their solutions aggregate liquidity and connect clients to a range of liquidity providers through ECN platforms and bridges. This generally suggests they would support variable spreads sourced from their connected liquidity pools, instead of offering fixed spreads themselves. In my personal experience with ECN or liquidity aggregation setups like what Fortex describes, spreads are typically variable and highly dependent on market liquidity. During normal trading hours, this arrangement often results in competitive spreads, as prices are aggregated across multiple sources. However, I’ve always found that during periods of high market volatility—such as during major news events or significant economic releases—spreads on ECN platforms can widen significantly. This is mainly because liquidity providers become more cautious and sometimes withdraw quotes, leading to less market depth and more abrupt price movement. It’s also important to note Fortex’s lack of regulatory oversight, which introduces an additional element of risk, especially when volatile conditions create the potential for order execution issues or slippage. For me, this means that while the technology and infrastructure are promising for execution speed, the absence of rigid regulatory guidance does not provide the added reassurance I look for in protecting my trading capital.
