According to a release, Redmond Wong has been designated market strategist for Saxo Markets, reporting to Hong Kong chief executive Richard Douglas as well as the Saxo Group's chief economist and chief investment strategist Steen Jakobsen.
Wong, who will be based in Hong Kong, will be in charge of explaining Saxo's global investment strategy, developing Hong Kong and mainland China-focused research, and providing actionable insights across various asset classes and tradable instruments.
Wong has 30 years of experience working in investment banks, private banks, and hedge funds in a variety of capacities including proprietary trading, institutional fixed income, and derivative sales, portfolio management, and hedge fund management. He formerly worked as a senior portfolio manager at BNP Paribas' private banking department in Hong Kong.
