Italys financial regulator CONSOB has ordered local internet service providers to block access to 11 websites offering investment-related services without the required authorization.

Following the latest orders, the total number of blocked websites has reached 1,816. Of these, 233 are linked to crypto-related activities.

The regulator continues to target websites that offer financial services in Italy without the necessary approval, including platforms promoting trading and investment products online.

The regulator also highlighted changes in the way fraudulent investment schemes are presented online.

Recent cases have involved cloned websites and emails, fake online profiles and AI-generated images, voices and videos designed to make investment offers appear more credible.
