Read what users are saying about Uphold Broker. Are they talking about withdrawal issues? Are they complaining about the customer support of Uphold? Has this broker blocked users‘ accounts? You must read this Uphold review before taking a step forward to invest. It’s better to be aware than sorry.
Is Uphold Legitimate?
The first question that usually comes to mind when people hear the name Uphold broker is, “Is Uphold legitimate?”
The answer is that while Uphold is not a licensed broker or dealer, it is regulated in the United States by FinCEN (Financial Crimes Enforcement Network). However, FinCEN registration is primarily for anti-money-laundering compliance and does not offer the same level of investor protection as top-tier regulators such as the FCA (UK), SEBI (India), or ASIC (Australia). Therefore, while Uphold is a functioning and registered platform, it cannot be considered fully regulated in the traditional brokerage sense.
Is Uphold a Good Company?
Uphold was founded in 2013 by Halsey Minor and was originally called Bitreserve. Minor described the companys mission as providing a transparent and open platform for financial access.
Although it started as a Bitcoin wallet, Uphold has since evolved into a multi-asset trading platform, allowing users to trade not only cryptocurrencies but also precious metals, equities, and fiat currencies.
In 2015, the company rebranded to Uphold and introduced stronger security measures. Today, the platform serves over 140 countries and supports trading in more than 300 currencies and commodities.
Uphold is privately owned by Halsey Minor, JP Theriot, and Anthony Watson, with JP Theriot serving as CEO.
