Bitget Brings Starlink Internet to Remote Siargao Communities

The initiative, which began at Espoir School of Life and Barangay Pitogo, delivers high-speed satellite internet to remote communities, tackling longstanding barriers to education, healthcare, and economic growth. By harnessing Starlinks advanced satellite technology, Bitget is paving the way for digital inclusion and blockchain education in areas long cut off from reliable connectivity.

Siargao‘s residents have historically depended on unstable microwave radio links, resulting in frequent internet outages and sluggish speeds. This has left schools like Espoir, which serves underprivileged children, reliant on outdated offline learning methods. Similarly, villages like Barangay Pitogo have faced isolation due to weak communication networks. “Stable internet is a game-changer,” said Vugar Usi Zade, Bitget’s COO. “It unlocks access to modern education, remote work, and critical services like telemedicine. We‘re not just connecting communities; we’re opening doors to opportunities like decentralized finance.”

The program‘s initial phase involves installing Starlink hardware at Espoir School and Barangay Pitogo’s public school, providing six months of high-speed internet. This upgrade will enable access to online curricula, teacher training platforms, and e-governance tools. Bitget is also committing to long-term impact through its $10M Blockchain4Youth and $10M Blockchain4Her initiatives, which will introduce blockchain literacy and digital finance skills to students and women-led cooperatives. The total investment of 155,400 Philippine pesos covers hardware,

subscriptions, and logistics—a small price for transformative change.

This initiative reflects a broader trend in the crypto industry: adoption begins with infrastructure. By addressing connectivity gaps, Bitget is creating a scalable model for other underserved regions. Plans for future expansion include neighboring islands, with collaborations involving local NGOs and government bodies to maximize impact.

The Starlink kits will activate in May, and Bitget will track progress through community stories and impact reports.
